A late World AIDS Day post in honor of Paul Thek

Last but not least, I was reminded to do a post in honor of World Aids day, and in doing so, I’d like to highlight the artist Paul Thek.

Thek was born in Brooklyn, NY and died of AIDS related illness in New York City in 1988.

I recently saw his retrospective show entitled “The Diver” at the Whitney, and I really recommend everyone to go and see it.  I was not entirely familiar with his work until I saw the show.  I  have been really inspired by him lately, and this is a perfect time for me to remind you about him. His drawings inspired me to draw, and his sculptures to make sculptures.  I find him intriguing, and in the short life he lived he was prolific in his work, and in the range of mediums he used.
